In Q1 2011 Premia FFL has been ranked among Top 2 Ice cream brands in Latvia

10.05.2011

The current Q1 2011 value market share of 14% gives the 2nd position in Latvian Ice cream market based on AC Nielsen and management estimations.  The market value share has been protected at the level of 14% compared to last available data in Q3 2010, which has been driven by Vanilla 1l Plombir ice cream performance. Such a trend of market value erosion is observed in entire LAT market, where share of the Private labels and low price brands are increasing from period to period.

“Of course we are pleased of the market share remained at the same level  vs 2010 Q3, but at the despite that we understand the market challenges to drive the value, while private lable importance is increasing”, said by chairmen of the board Andis Kļaviņš.  As respond reaction to private lable growth and to increase the company value share Premia FFL currently plans to launch new premium level products under brand Klasika, which has demonstrated very solid consumer response and market share performance in neighbouring Estonian market, where Premia has focused on developing and promoting cream ice creams free of preservatives and trans- fatty acids and we can see that ice cream lovers have noticed, tasted and approved it. At the same time Premia Foods is introducing to the Latvian market 3 new tastes of cream ice creams under the famous local confectionary brand Laima (Vāverīte, Serenāde, Laima). “That will help us to grow the value share even further and respond to private lable expansion in the market”, concludes Andis Kļaviņš.

Being a part of Premia Foods, listed on NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Stock Exchange, AS Premia Foods produces ice cream for Estonia and all the Baltic countries in the modern ice cream factory located in Tallinn, which employs more than 200 persons. By today, the company’s production history dates back to 55 years, has grown to be the market leader in Estonia and the Baltics with annual production volume of 7000 tons. More than 80% of the product range of the company is cream ice creams and 2/3 of the ice cream manufactured in Tallinn is exported to Latvia, Lithuania and Finland. The best known trademarks of the company such as Premia& Klasika ice creams do not contain preservatives or trans fatty acids.
